A Western-Himalayan town of around 60,000 spread across Lower Dharamshala, Kotwali Bazaar, and the upper sub-areas of McLeod Ganj, Bhagsu, and Naddi. Tourism, the Central Tibetan Administration, and a year-round trekking economy strain water, waste collection, and parking on a steep, terraced topography.
