Tourists visiting the Auroville beach area are leaving behind significant plastic waste. The approach road and nearby dunes have visible accumulation of single-use plastic bottles, bags, and food packaging. Local volunteers clean up weekly but the volume is increasing, particularly on weekends. A sustained waste management plan with bins and signage is needed.
