The northern embankment of the Brahmaputra near Fancy Bazar ghat accumulates plastic waste during high water and is not cleared between flood seasons. River dolphins (Platanista gangetica) have been spotted in this stretch. GMC waste collection does not cover embankment areas. A dedicated riverbank clean-up protocol and NGO partnership is needed.
