No street lighting on 8 km stretch of Girivalam road — safety hazard at night

The 14-km pradakshina path around Arunachala hill (Girivalam) draws thousands of devotees monthly, many walking at 2–4 AM on auspicious days. An 8-km stretch from the western gate to the southern tank has no functioning street lights. Accidents involving two-wheelers have been reported in the past year. Tamil Nadu Highways Dept has been petitioned twice with no response.
