What does Like mean?
Like is a lightweight public reaction that says an issue matters to you, without claiming direct evidence or expertise.
Definition
Like is the lightest public reaction on SevaPremi. It says, "this matters to me" or "I want this to receive attention." A Like does not mean you personally observed the Problem, professionally validated it, or committed to help solve it. It is a concern signal, not a proof signal.
Why It Matters in SevaPremi
Even lightweight concern matters when many people express it. Likes can show that a Problem has community attention, that an article is useful, or that a future mission is gaining public support. However, SevaPremi deliberately separates Likes from Verify and Endorse because civic platforms need evidence and trust, not only popularity. A Problem with fewer Likes but strong local verification may deserve higher priority than a viral post with little evidence.
What Happens When You Interact
When you Like something, the public count may increase and the action may feed ranking or recommendations. You can usually unlike later. Likes may shape your own feed by showing the Matching Engine what kinds of Problems, Localities, or Categories interest you. They are weighted below Verifications and Endorsements in trust-sensitive contexts. If you want to say you have seen the issue yourself, use Verify. If you hold a relevant authority badge and can provide evidence, use an endorsement action when available.
